this reply is so true I was one of the unlucky ones, other have no side effects

I started treatment (T2 though) with metformin the 1 tablet to 4 tablets a day usual way after a bit of tie had to change to slow release tablets which to be honest made no difference at all, the side effect was Diarrhoea 2 days a week I begged to come off and to use insulin instead, even then...

Tuesday my lowest ever 5.7 :p

Late posting alas 11.1 due to Sickness and Diarrhoea 11,30 am test was 6.3

the only way I "learnt" when I was not sure was by trying and finger prick testing after (2 hours etc)

When you begin on insulin you will probably be on a very low amount and build up slowly as in tiny amounts each week, that is how I started You are really best to ask your diabetic nurse or Dr what to look out for since using insulin I have never had a proper hypo but the occasional false...
