    Minimed 640g at the Dentist

I have an Insight pump and have always removed my pumps during x-rays just in case. The assistant usually leaves the room with my pump then returns it after x-rays have been taken. It's a drag and I hate doing it but would hate for my pump to be at risk

    Insight Pump - Reliability

I've had my insight pump for about 2 years. It is annoyingly slower than the combo but i love it for the prefilled cartridges. Do not want to go back to drawing up insulin again!

Heathrow and the Pump interrogations and scaners and xray machines!!!!!

Just got back from a trip to Ottawa from Heathrow, followed by an internal flight from Ottawa to Vancouver and ulimately the flight from Vancouver back to Heathrow. I didn't know what a body scanner looked like - I assumed it was something you had to step into and would have a sign saying what...

    Reactive Hypoglycaemia

My daughter has reactive hypoglycaemia and is not diabetic (unlike me). Nobody seems to recognise the condition, even most doctors, She has had problems from school life to working life in dealing with hypos, and being allowed to eat or take glucose when she needs to, as people think because...

    Tiredness causes?

high bloods are making me tired lately, no matter how many times I change pump sites, infusion sets etc, it's so depressing. Although getting low sugars aren't great either, I can usually get back to safe levels quicker than when I'm high. I hate it.

    Canula sites

Stomach area on my left side is my favourite place to use, but annoyingly I soon run out of sites as it needs a rest, gets bruised or doesn't flow properly and I have to use somewhere else for a week. Just a way of life for us though isn't it. you just have to get on with it! :)

    high bloods after changing site

Thanks for replying to my thread, the high temp basal is only a last resort if nothing else works. Yes I always keep the old set in place for hours before I remove it. (I By the way, I have a Roche aviva combo pump, and use D-links which I insert manually). This time I drew up a new cartridge...

    high bloods after changing site

Does anyone else find their control goes off the scale as soon as they change their pump site? I generally change D-Link 2-3 days, from different leg sites or different ab sites. It used to be fine, but during the last year it's driving me crazy when my blood sugar spikes out of control for...

Curious! How and what do you all take to treat your hypos?

Hi, I eat gluten-free jelly babies if I am out and feel myself going low, or if I have immediate access to a mini carton of fruit juice that works best. If I hypo during the night I find chocolate alpro soya milk is more comforting! Yet, if I get REALLY low during the evening, I may follow up...
