How many carbs do YOU eat

I agree, Keto too strict and meticulous for me currently, I also subscribe to a protein bar and 2 squares of chocolate!:)

    T2 - a tale of diagnosis 'remission'....and hope!

I think people use whichever term sits comfortably with them, I personally prefer 'managed or well managed' The term 'reverse' in this context to me means reversal of symptoms not the underlying condition. 'Remission' is probably the most accurate term when you look at the definition i.e. 'a...

Interesting perspective, so if asked on a say a medical or insurance form whether you have any medical conditions would you list Diabetes?

    T2 - a tale of diagnosis 'remission'....and hope!

Congratulations to the OP on their progress:) I disagree with the man Jim on this post though (Sorry Jim!) I'm T2 diabetic and that's not going to change. Before I was a T2 diabetic i could eat to my preference and my BG would be fine and in non-diabetic range. I can't do that anymore, this is a...

Am I obsessed or just experimenting?

Not used the Codefree meter, the TEE2 works well for me. I have an AgaMatrix Jazz 2 meter also which is small and really nice but the test strips are double the price so I use it in a back up / sense check role

    Testing

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself there's a lot to get your head around, keep up the good work and use the advice on this forum and i'm sure you'll see improvements

    Testing

You're doing great @chris66 , when I first began testing I couldn't get any readings in single figures for weeks regardless of the time of day or what I had eaten so you're starting from a good base.

Type 2 Eat to the meter, or play the long game?

Interesting discussion, in my current approach I wouldn't consider full keto but useful to read the 'topping up' theory. I don't religiously test now but did so at diagnosis (March 2018) to understand what foods to steer clear of. I've reduced my HbA1c to 36 from 81 in 10 months whilst still...

    HbA1c Reduction

I had my latest results and appointment with my Diabetic Specialist Nurse today who informed me my HbA1c was 36, down from 40 in July 2018 and 81 at diagnosis in March 2018, needless to say i'm very pleased! She also hinted about new literature that she's waiting for that encourages reducing the...

    Data Nerdery and recording

I would struggle to keep a food diary or record & graph BG readings so just rely on the basic functions of the meter to inform my dietary choices which works ok for me. I guess if you're a data enthusiast then there's plenty of Apps and tools out there so go knock yourselves out!:)

    Recently diagnosed type2

Hi @RAYMMCHARG , I had a HbA1c of 81 at diagnosis in March this year and with Metformin and low carb i punched in at 41 4 months later. Not easy and I don't have the pancreatitis element but as many here have proved goods results can be achieved. Good luck

    When to stop the Metformin

I'm lucky in that Metformin doesn't cause me any issues so will happily continue with it for it's beneficial effect on insulin resistance and also potential protective properties for the heart, and apparently cancer (not an expert but this is what is claimed?) As always it's a personal choice.
