I'm struggling to fast this week.
I'm hungry in the evening and in the end yesterday had some cheese and crackers (seed crackers - low carb).
Not sure if I'm not taking enough salt or just because it's wet, windy, cold and grey.
I'm doing a short fast at the moment. Sunday night to Tuesday lunchtime-is. I'll aim for 42 hours.
Coffee with cream this morning followed by tea during the day. Pink Himalayan salt helps.
I bought fennel seeds from an Indian shop as they're priced well. I think 300gm for £1.50.
Just put few seeds in a mug fill with hot water and enjoy.
I thought it was better than buying teabags.
I stopped yesterday at 5 days. I was pleased to finish and have some food; however had I committed to more than 5 days at the beginning I think I could have carried on. It's so much a mind game for me.
Arthritic pain in two of my fingers is less.
I'd quite like to try another long fast next...
Yesterday (day 4) was better than Wednesday (day 3).
I can't say that I have more clarity of mind or tons of energy.
I miss eating/chewing, although I wasn't hungry yesterday.
FBG this morning down a touch to 5.8mmol/l.
My 5 days finish this evening. I had thought that I would maybe go on to...
Really difficult day yesterday; thought about food too much. Day 3 has always been difficult in the past.
Managed to get through it, feel ok this morning.
FBG - 5.9 mmol/l - which is a great improvement on the week.
Hope you're all good.
I understand, I've been eating LCHF for about 3 years now. I think I need to challenge myself to get my blood sugars down and loose weight. My head is in a positive space at the moment to try and do this. I am very curious to see what I can achieve in a month and how I feel through the process.
Hello All,
I've just seen this thread and thought I would respond.
I've been fasting since Sunday night.
My longest fast to date is 3 days - but not recent.
I've found fasting difficult recently, so this time I added in salt.
I have read so many times that you need salt when fasting - just...
