After reading books by the American specialist regarding RH - I have come to believe that the 6 hour GTT is the most accurate way for diagnosing RH. But GP's keep telling us that they have stopped using that now and prefer the HB1Ac test. But I see that has a monitoring tool, and not a good...
Thank you so much for that obsevant concern of yours. You are correct too - i did read about that on an Austrailian web site. But he has already been tested for that. He has had loads of tests and they all come back clear. That is another reason i am soo sure that he has RH. Just wish we could...
Thanks for this informative video. Yes I was diagnosed through pregnancy, and this saddens me that other people will fall through the net. Cus I was just told not to worry cus it is common in pregnancy and falsely told it would just go away. My son was 9lb 4oz and I wasn't told that it would be...
Yes i get the gist of what you are saying about the diet. And we are both doing the diet now, but if we had been diagnosed sooner a lot of suffering would have been saved. We would have made changes sooner. But one needs to be made aware of the problem in the first place. I have read that RH is...
My hba1c is always normal - and why wouldn't it be when i am on a good diet. It is only when given sugar that we will truely see what that does to the pancreas and how it reacts to that. So GP's seem to need better education about this. But it is not their fault if they haven't been trained...
ok thanks for that advise. I already tried a private hospital for the 6 hour GTT test but they said we still needed GP referal, and sicnce our GP is refusing to refer my husband - i thought I had hit another brick wall. Didn't realise that we can look for a private GP too. So thanks for that info.
Yes I totally agree. I am new on here and have self diagnosed myself with this (I had been told that I was just borderline diabetic), and we did a 6 hour GTT test at home on my husband and I have realised more than him that he has "Flat curve Response Reactive Hypoglycemia". It is books from...
We are based in Preston Lancashire, and I would lke to know of a good GP who understands RH better near us so that we could change to them. I did phone another surgery and they were offering the HB1AC too which I don't believe will find RH. I think that test must be less expensive. I wanted to...
You are correct. He needs the correct diet. But to make him more determined to stick to his diet - it would be better for him if he was diagnosed by proffesionals, and given all the support he needs.
Wow ...Yes that does make sense to me. Even the Krimmel diet book said that some people with RH are even intolerant to wholegrains, and I have found that with me and my husband. And I do feel much better with salad and protein. The carbs we mainly have are broccoli cus they are low GI too. Are...
The diet is NONE OF THE FOLLOWING I use a funny name CAT SAW to remind me.
Avoid the following
Caffeine
Alcohol
Tobacco
Sugar
Artificial Additives
White refined flours or grains
All these produce too fast insulin spike.
Eat 6 smaller meals a day or 3 snacks and 3 smaller than usual main meals...
Ok - I was diagnosed as borderline diabetic in 1986, and was put on a diet. In 2010 I read books from the library about reactive hypoglycemia and switched to that diet instead, and got much better results.
But I suspected that my husband has reactive hypoglycemia and we did a home GTT test on...
