    Eye screening

After the drops go in you won't be able to read or see your phone or a book, so maybe download something soothing to listen to while you wait for the next part of the process. Sometimes at my clinic the wait can be quite long (understatement!)

what on earth can I eat?

Perhaps try natural yoghurt (fat level to suit you) mixed with some milled seeds and some berries. Made earlier and left in the fridge it thickens to more of a porridge consistency

    Kimchi and Blood Glucose

Not all kimchis are as good as each other. I don't see a direct relation to my bg (except they don't raise it), but do eat them to try increase the variety of my gut microbiome. Rather than small jars (which may have been pasturised) I try to get the really big bags from Asian supermarkets...

    Libre 2plus

I have an A50 and although the Libre works, having Bluetooth on really slows down all other apps and drains the battery. I'm looking to upgrade soon, maybe an a17, whatever the newest one in £200 range is? Check the Bluetooth version is what ai is advising me.

This is not supposed to happen on Metformin alone.

For me (female 5'6" normal bmi, T2 hba1c about 41) that would be too little food. I can get readings in the 3s sometimes and it always coincides with fasting or hunger. are you losing weight? On purpose or accidentally? Try increasing portion sizes, perhaps? And try a protein only snack before...

Edited to amend typo Tracking, using Carb Manager, helped me in the early days while I learned what and how much. Never needed anything other than thr free level. Norovirus

Friends are just back from one that had an outbreak. He got poorly , she didnt, even though they were confined to cabin for 2 days (because he was ill, not whole ship). Best prevention is regular hot water and soap handwashing eg before and after each meal and using toilet. Sanitisers dont...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

So sorry you are so cold. Its still unseasonably warm here, fingers crossed for a thunderstorm overnight - the garden needs it so. I'm heading your way, I think, in August. We're doing a 10 day sailing trip Hebrides but I'm not in charge of the route. Fingers crossed its warmer by then, for...

What did you pop in your basket this week? Low chat level

Yes, they are what I call the seedy crackers :) I think their full title is Super Seeded rackers nutrients dense. They are only seeds. A while ago they were out of stock for ages so I developed a way of making my own, not quite as good, but acceptable

Carb Flu - how do I tell this from medication side effects?

All I know from my own experience is that it's better to stick through it, and yes it does get harder each time, hence why I'm more motivated to stick with low carb rather than veering off and back again Remember "carb flu "is just your internal toddler throwing a tantrum that you've taken it's...

    Great places to eat

Dishoom does a very nice whole chicken... they think its for 4 but I did nearly manage all of it. The Big Easy is good for meats. Haven't been for a while but the mixed grill on their set lunch was very reasonable for the price

    Zero-carb beer

My husband enjoys Ghost Ship 0.5% from Adnams Or Lucky Saint 0.5%. Peroni 0 seems widely available nowadays and he drinks that if we are out for a meal. No idea of the carbs though, he's not diabetic, just a driver
