I have also got my hba1c down but I will know see my nurse every year still.

I have had both of mine done no problems healed in 10 days just had to be careful and was signed off in 3 weeks.

I have never had a lipid profile done it is not considered necessary in my practise I think it must cost more?.

the receptionists at my clinic cannot give me any figures and I ask my nurse it is like pulling teeth but I get them at last.

with a family history my doctor gave me the strips to test my urine felt ill one morning there it was blood test confirmed it.

my doctor knew of my family history of diabetes and gave me urine sticks to use if I felt unwell one day I thought I had flu tested it was positive saw her and had it confirmed with a blood test.

I am type 2 so were my 2 brothers one sister a nephew was type1 and my grandfather was a diabetic.
