History of Diabetes

very interesting.

I do family history, so imagine my surprise when I obtained the death certificate of my great, great grandfather. He died in hospital in 1897, aged 71. Cause of death "diabetes".

Diferentiatng the 2 types is good reading too :-

Reading about riding horseback and overfeeding and starvation back in those days, makes me realise how dam lucky we actually are.

Also, I did wonder what would happen about tasting of the 'sweet urine' if Aids or HIV was about then, but undiscovered or not seen as a potential lethal disease ( or something similar regarding the bodily fluids)
I have found the history side of diabetes fascinating.

Very interesting @Robinredbreast, thanks for sharing.

Since your diagnosis, what do you think has been the biggest improvement(s) in understanding/treating the condition better?
