    Concerned and need advice.

Although I feel that I am forever posting problematic posts on here but this one is more worrying for me. I am 25 years old and been a type 1 diabetic for 15 years. I have noticed that since my diabetes has recently been all over the place that I am starting to find that my health is starting...

    Unacceptable behaviour at annual review

I got accused by my diabetic consultant that was I eating too many hamburgers and not taking my insulin O.o i told my gp that i wanted to change hospitals because it was unacceptable but they told me to remain with this hospital. So now I dread going to see the consultant for my check up :/

    Studying with diabetes

It must be a new policy at universities because I don't think I was asked for one of those when I was at uni. I think they ask people who are going to study medicine or something similar.

Curious about diabetes weight loss... Can anyone help?

I was also 10 at the time when I was diagnosed and even though I was a skinny child, I had apparently lost a lot of weight. I was living in a hot country at the time as well so whilst I had lost weight I became very dehydrated too.

Strange blood sugar pattern whilst on pump

Due to a message earlier classing me as 'selfish' I'm seriously not. Fifteen years as a type 1 diabetic, constant high HBA1C's and struggles with stress, I was offered by my hospital a few times beforehand to go on the pump and I kept declining it. It was only in 2013 that they asked me again...

Strange blood sugar pattern whilst on pump

Thank you everyone :) Hopefully I will get it right but somehow either my body or the pump clearly doesn't want to be on its best behaviour.

Strange blood sugar pattern whilst on pump

I was wondering if people who are on the pump have experienced this before... Recently I have noticed a strange pattern where it's as if my pump stops pumping insulin through the night causing my blood sugars to rise between 10-13 mmols just before breakfast. I have increased my basal rate and...

How long did it take for people to get the pump?

I think i have the most confusing diabetic team in the whole of the UK as well...I was told that a doctor would be organising for me to be entitled to the pump, then got told it was the nurses who sorted it out, then doctors, nurses etc... I did ask my GP if I could change hospitals but they...

How long did it take for people to get the pump?

I was told back in July that I would now be offered the pump as my bloodsugars are being all over the place :/ I went to a pump talk and then saw the diabetic consultant in October who told me that I would hear back from the diabetic team 'soon'. I just want to know how long did it take for...

'I've got blisters on me tongue'

Over the weekend I somehow burnt or bit my tongue but I can't remember. I asked my friend whether I may have had a 'seizure' during the night cos i stayed over at hers and she said no, so in a way I went with the burnt tongue option. It may be a cause of stress as well since I work in a rather...

    23year old snoring T1DM

I am 23 years old with type 1 diabetes. For a couple of years now my partner cannot sleep due to my 'loud snoring and heavy breathing' whilst I sleep. I am 10 stone and have a BMI of around 21 (so I am not overweight). He wears earplugs to bed however the snoring is so loud there is nothing...

not taking insulin with a no carb meal?

All i do stupidly worry about is that if i was to have a plain salad and not take insulin with it that my bloods would go haywire. It's like if i was to have a glass of orange juice with the salad (as sainsbury's orange juice has 18.4g carbs per 200ml) then would I have to take extra insulin?

    Dealing with Hypo's

I always find that Ribena brings me back to normal after feeling low from a hypo...chocolate is of course a no no because the sugar apparently takes a while to get in to the blood so always stick to sugary drinks or glucose tablets :) I've realised that my carb ratio in the morning is incorrect...

not taking insulin with a no carb meal?

i know i need to cut down on my carbs...i was diagnosed with diabetes 13 years ago and back then of course they always told you to eat carbs to keep the bloodsugars good and i was on actrapid insulin way before i had to start taking the novorapid and lantus insulins. I guess having vegetables...
