    New Hba1c Test Result Query

I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic about six months ago. I reduced my reading down to 42 and just had another test and it read 40. What sort of level should I be aiming for? I can't seem to locate any definitive information about a reading of 40, just that I should be aiming for below 42.

    Breaded Fish Query

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed as pre-diabetic. As a result of this, I have changed my diet. Initially I was eating turkey mince, but now I am eating two pieces of breaded fish and peas for my dinner. Is the breaded fish particularly bad for me? It is quality fish from M&S as opposed to a...

Change in mmol reading after fasting.

Thanks for your reply. It's very informative. Would some nuts at 10am and then nothing till 5 be classed as intermittent fasting?

Change in mmol reading after fasting.

My mmol yesterday was 6.9. Today I starved myself and only had a few brazil and almond nuts early morning. My reading today, before eating, is 5.9. I'm wondering if this is good.

Some advice would be useful as I'm disappointed in myself.

Thank you very much for your reply. When my blood sugar levels were particularly high (bordering on diabetic), I was getting tingling in my feet and pains in my toes. This stopped once I was ruthless with my diet. Now it's back and more pronounced than before. Any thoughts on that?

Re: high blood pressure and insulin resistance

I'm afraid I can't advise you, but I read your thread and I think you are a remarkable person and have clearly accomplished something very impressive, by reducing your blood sugar reading. Stay strong.

Some advice would be useful as I'm disappointed in myself.

I had drastically changed my diet about two months ago and had reduced my mmol quite significantly. However, this week I have eaten two large bags of salted blue corn doritos. They said they were 1.2g of sugar per 100g and the bags are 150g so I thought they might be alright. In addition to this...

Some guidance would be much appreciated.

I was diagnosed as prediabetic recently. I had a HbA1c done and the reading was 46 mmol/mol. It was found by chance and I had to go back and have another set of bloods done thirty days later. I persuaded the nurse to put down a request for another HbA1c as I had made some dramatic changes to my...
