The Libre Link app obviously records your levels but it doesnt work out insulin doses unfortunately....
there are apps out there though that will do it....

What basal are you on? It sounds split......
To determine if your basal dose is right the only thing to do is a carb free test......
Do you have hypo unawareness or have you had a bad experience in the past...
If it repeats I would assume its the liver thats responsible.......ie dawn phenomenon/foot to the floor...
DP/FTTF hormones like cortisol will also incease insulin resistance which makes your normail during the day corrections no use....
If it is liver related [testing required to confirm] you...
It would be for me.... I tend to have an 80-90 over half of the next day ...but I have seen days where I reluctantly went out for walks after a night of drink and the lows come....
Your liver may also take it's time with the booze...
I wouldn't worry though...less insulin is always a good thing...

Can you try putting a temp increase of the basal in the first instance, maybe 10 or 15% [assuming type 1]
sick day rules are solely for the control of ketones......obviously having an intake of some cabrs will help stop any contribution from starvation ketones.....but it doesnt need to be a lot...
Getting covid doeant come any easier for us....but its having an illness which can make glucose control harder....and if there are prolongued high periods, then your imune system wont be firing on all four cylibnders so to speak.....

your Hb is decent enough......and spiking for short periods isn't such a big deal......and it sounds like you do know how to improve those spikes if you really wanted to......

The high risk is basically due to the risk of ketones, the same as the flu would bring....
They don't contact you during the flu so wont be doing it with this I imagine....
