    Family support - finally understanding?

Wonderful to have someone like that in your corner!

Very dissatisfied with BUPA Health Insurance, is it possible to switch?

Might it be possible for you to start a savings account and put away what you would have spent on private health insurance? This would need a bit of luck with you staying healthy until you had a reasonable amount put by, but would solve the "is this a pre-existing condition" stumbling block.

    Eggs and blood sugar

A good slosh of mayonnaise on your cold boiled eggs might well address that particular issue. Probably rather yummy on hot eggs as well.

Not diagnosed yet but HPA1c levels r ridiculous

You can still have butter and mayo, as long as the mayo is either made by you or one of the luxury ones like Hellman's that doesn't have a load of added carbs and sugars. It is surprising how quickly you will lose the feeling that there ought to be bread. Or try one of the very low carb breads...

    ADHD, anyone?

I reckon you're a superstar. It's wise to balance the possible effects of this med. on that med, not to mention keeping all the balls in the air with your total wellbeing. It's so easy for various medics to lean towards their own specialities and not give proper (any?) thought to the whole human...

Intermittent fasting alongside LCHF. Mutual support, anyone?

    Splendid results - you rock!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday brunch small Greek yoghurt and a piece of goat cheese. Dinner: a few nuts (Brazils, hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts) the biggest pork chop I've ever seen (husband buys them and the butcher likes him) cabbage and cauliflower. Some of the veg . will appear in today's lumpy soup, given that I...

T2 or NAFLD? ...or, a funny thing happened on the way to the surgery

I can't offer an answer, but I am very impressed by your research and will be very interested in any explanation.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I don't. Stone me now. I don't want to do anything that might bring me back to missing the things I no longer miss. I don't judge, and all the best to anyone who finds they can still have sweet/high carb stuff without ill effect. But it isn't a matter of "everybody".

    Stress and HAB1c

Stress does, for many of us. Not for all. Do you have a Human Resources dept in your company? I used to work for one like that - prior to HR days - and had to become very inventive to "train" people not to call me in my time off. I feel for you.

HbA1c results - thank you for the support

    That's wonderful news, and well-deserved.

Home blood prick tests - a waste of time?

The most useful thing for me was being able to check what affected my BG in any given circumstance. As we are all individual in our responses, I found what was useful for me, rather than having no more information than how my BG had been overall over an extended time. I learned how my own Dawn...

COVID and type 2 , higher blood glucose

I felt pretty rough, lost sense of taste and smell (as in everything tasted foul not as in tasted of nothing) and BG rose annoyingly but not catastrophically. It was helpful from my T2 point of view as in I wasn't interested in food so intermittent fasting/staying on keto diet was easy. It all...

    Dietician frustration

Professionals vary in ability. Your dietician was clearly a dud. I agree to go back to your GP/DN arrangement.

    Who do I turn to

I definitely have white coat syndrome, and always warn the person taking the measurements. I have found that hospital staff are very laid back about it whereas GP staff are - not. I test at home, and over the years have confirmed that I am a fast reactor to any kind of stress. I earned my living...
