    Where to start

Hi Mr Happy 100, Sorry we didn't say Hi for a while, but you are very welcome here. As others have said, the DNs seem to not like recommending testing kits for Type 2. However, I was 110 in Jan 2023 and got down to about 56 in Jan 2025. I had joined this forum but not really spent the time...

    Freestyle libre 2

I have been wearing the libre 2 for the last couple of weeks. It's estimated Hba1c shows as 30 mmol (4.9%). I had a blood test on Wednesday and the Hba1c came up as 33 so it's not too far away.

    Blood test results

I've had a phone call today. The person who took the blood isn't a diabetic nurse at all, just someone who takes blood and measures blood pressures of people. The person who phoned me today is actually a diabetic nurse. She said that the reading had gone down, and what exactly what I...

    Blood test results

Hi All, I've had my 6 monthly blood test today. I was originally 110 in Jan 2023 and the test now shows 33 so I'm really really pleased. I've been wearing a Libre CGM as I went on an all inclusive to Turkey last week and that estimated that I was 29 so it's not too far off. Many thanks to...

    Losing faith

I had a similar thing about pepsi max with one doctor. He said it was bad for diabetics and I shouldn't drink it. I asked why as there is literally 0% carbs in it, he finally told me that it's because studies have shown (couldn't tell me which studies) that people who drink diet drinks get...

    Libre 2 Plus Estimated A1C

Thanks for the responses, it is appreciated. It makes sense that it seems to be showing the figures lower - but as you say it is showing me that my BG does come back down a lot quicker than it was when I first used the test one. I thought 29 was a bit strange - however, with the test libre a...

    Libre 2 Plus Estimated A1C

Hi All, I'm currently on holiday in Turkey this week (and missing the dreadful weather at home in the uk fortunately). Quick background, I was diagnosed in Jan 2021 when I was 20 stone. It took a while to get used to it, but within three months I was 70 and then down to 58 then 48 and then...

Ranting about having to phone repeatedly for appointments

I'm sorry it's a bit of a nightmare. I moved about a year ago and my new GPs owner is great. He is a complete IT fanatic and has computerised everything. I've spoke to him a couple of times and he is very passionate about helping people. They took on about 3000 people when other GPs in...

3 months on - first repeat hbA1c results since diagnosis - Metformin & diet results

Funnily the only people who have congratulated me are the people on this forum and I really appreciate it, friends and family don't really understand the scores etc. and I don't really mention it to people in real life. However, I am still flabbergasted that you have gone from 107 to 47 in 6...

3 months on - first repeat hbA1c results since diagnosis - Metformin & diet results

That's really great and it helps so much when people recognise just what an achievement you've made, she sounds like a great person. When I dropped down to 38 I had moved house so didn't see my old Diabetic nurse. I had my bloods taken at my new GPs and found the result myself on the NHS app...

    Mmol

Very nearly there then, it's great progress in such a short time. I was 110 in Jan 2023 (complete shock with no symptoms). It took me two years to get it to your level so really well done. I am now 38 and have lost 6 stone, a big part of it has been this forum and learning about low...

    Mmol

The pre-diabetic range is 42-47 and then 48 + is diabetic. If you are within 42-47 (can't really tell exactly from the graph) then you are in the pre-diabetic range. Congratulations on getting it down from nearly 90 so quickly, it's a real achievement. What have you done to get it down...

Im back or shall i say im ill

I'm so sorry you have to go through this at 22. I wasn't diagnosed until 51 and am so grateful that I had the 50 years with enjoying myself and not worrying about food. You will bring it back as you already have done with hard work, but you shouldn't have to go through it at your age...
