Oh dear. I was given this Glucomen by the diabetic specialist nurse two days ago and I agree with the above. Previously used the Contour and have used both to compare these last two days. Results vary by up to 2.6!

I use Frio wallets too! When away in hot countries, I do keep insulin in the wallets all the time. I have two, one for everyday use and one for unopened insulin pens. Recommend them

In answer to your main question, its quite safe to use both insulins together - I have in the past. Type 1 for 40 years, no complications yet. Getting the blood sugar levels down is important so if using both insulins does that, continue.
