Hi guys
Hope you guys are well, or at least bearing up under the circumstances as best as possible!
Have another question for the forum. A few months ago I tested out adding protein powder in my diet and found that it worked well (in terms of a slight increase in muscle size and strength) and...
Was 5.7 (up from 5.6 last time). Which isn't to bad as I have been getting pretty slack at times.
Cholesterol was up though - from 3.3 at the last check to 5.4!
I already am but it's hard work!! When the water first hits you, you're like  literally! It wakes you up (as you can imagine) but I don't know about the effects on my bs as I have had no strips to test for a fair few months now.
Hiya folks,
Haven't been online for a while. Hope all the regulars are good!
Was wondering about this earlier. Now, we know that hot baths can raise you bs levels, I was wondering if the converse could help achieve the opposite i.e. could cold showers help keep levels down?
Any ideas?
Had some joy, my latest bloods as follows:
Hba1C - 5.6 (was 15.1 on diagnosis in April last year!)
Serum cholesterol - 3.3 (was 6.3 in February this year, statins worked although they turned me into an absent minded bumbler. Will try half dose for a while perhaps?)
Trigs - 0.4 (from 0.7 in...
What tests and results are you guys getting?
I'm worried about my liver and kidneys too.
Sometimes I think the doc just ignores borderline high readings. I think that attitude is pretty crass, I'd rather they acted in a preventative fashion rather than waiting for things to go 'belly up'...
I don't know if I am going bonkers but I swear my feet start to sweat when I indulge in carbs. Anyone explanations?
Sorry for the grossness of the question btw....
I experienced memory loss on statins. I would walk into the kitchen and forget why. I would have a thought that I knew was important then within a second forgot exactly what it was....
I'm pretty sure it was the simvastatin as instances of such things have markedly decreased since I've stopped...
So even veg oil or sunflower oils are bad for us! Crikey....
The thing with this condition is that the list of food we can safely eat seems to diminish on a regular basis.
Have yet to experience any better than Glenfiddich 18 year old myself.
Unfortunately such things are only for times of prosperity, which these are certainly not!
