No I don't think the Rapid-D does come with a protective cap, unless it is something I need to order separately? I looked at the cannula package and the tubing package and couldn't see anything, I could open it but didn't want to waste it.

Sorry another Rapid-D link question.
We are new to the Rapid-D link and I wanted to check whether is it okay for my daughter to have a bath/swim with the 'pony tail' part of the tubing left just as it is when disconnected from the pump?

Thanks for the tips donnellysdogs. I have ordered the tubing but did not know about the priming routine and more importantly, that you do not need to give extra insulin to fill the reservoir!

Thank you both so much, you are right it is so important to get the right cannula and it's even harder trying to make the decision with a child.
I was also worried about a steel cannula, so I am pleased you said your daughter doesn't feel any discomfort.

My six year old daughter was using the FlexLink plus and prior to that the original FlexLink, which we had lots of problems with and now I am not sure which infusion set to use...
