    Leaving the forum!

Gosh, how could this forum have made you feel like this. I have had hugely conflicting advice from all the different medical people that I have seen, so it's not just the people here who have different ideas. The advice on some of the forums has worked for me and is proved to myself on a...

    yogurt

Thanks for that Dennis. I think this answers the question I was asking a few weeks ago, in a way I can understand. I wanted to know which was the more important to me, either the total carbs or the "of which sugars" and now I not only know but understand.

    Low-carbs?

I think I can go one better. I told my diabetic nurse of the information that I had gained here. She took it all in and did a lot of research herself and became convinced.....so much so that she has now put herself on a low carb diet partly because of being a bit overweight and partly because...

    dizzy and blurred vision

If your practise has a Diabetic nurse, it would probably be easier to get to see her. They tend to be better qualified than the doctors and in my case would save a wait of 3 - 4 weeks unless I was dying, lol

Fergus, did you read in the paper the other day, that chorizo is quite often made from donkeys.......kinda puts me off it. Poppy

    Interesting article.

As I am trying to find out what works for me or not, I did a test this morning. 1 cup of coffee and 1 tsp Splenda. No meds and nothing to eat. BS starting 6.3. + 10 mins 7.0 + 20 mins 7.6 + 10 mins 8.0 + 10 mins 7.6 Of course this might all be due to the Splenda, will try it without...

    going round in circles!

Don't be afraid to start the injections, if this is what it takes. I was and at first I had to have my hubby do it for me, I am such a wimp, but then I managed to do it for myself and can honestly say that I don't know why I didn't do it earlier. Even though I still take some metformin I...

    Confused

Well, I have now consumed my 2nd bar out of the box and this time did tests every 20 mins and it did push my BS up by about 2.0 but this is so much lower than a couple of weetabix etc that it doesn't seem too bad. I probably wont buy another box once this one has finished. Fergus thats great...

Feel funny - could it be signs of hypo

I must be very lucky. When my diabetic nurse first told me to gt a meter, there was a tv advert saying that they were on special at the time and so I went and bought one and filled out a form at the time. Just a few months ago the company that made the meter wrote to me and offered me a...

    Confused

In the supermarket yesterday, I was seduced by a box containg Low Carb Breakfast Bars. On the box front was the claim 2.5 net carbs. Not having had my reading glasses with me I couldn't read any of the info on the back. On getting home I see that a bar contains 15.0 g carbs of which sugars 1.5...

I take the capsules but I don't get an aftertaste. Has anyone tried Cider Apple Vinegar in pill form?

    Can I ask???

Well, this is fascinating. Glad that you are finding that cutting the carbs is helping Mandarin. I have been having weetabix or oatibix for brekkie (sends sugars up from low 5s to well over 10) and then the remainder of my carbs have been in evening meal gravy and fruit (not much) and veg...
