    My child

Is this the same 13 year old that has been asking about hypo treatment on the forum this week who said they had texture issues? Without the full picture it does sound to me like some parental responsibility is needed here.

Best Hypo Treatments for someone who has texture issues

I have used any of the following - Concentrated orange juice i.e. from the multi pack cartons - Coke - Gluco juice (didn't like it) - Glucose tabs (mainly use for hypo avoidance) - Sugar in tea / coffee - Lucozade - starbursts (read chewitts) - ice cream The advice I got was to only treat with...

    Issues with my employer

Here's an interesting article.not quite the one I was looking for but similar. You might want to look up 'making reasonable adjustments.' http://www.xperthr.co.uk/blogs/employment-tribunal-watch/2011/06/company-harassed-diabetic-employee-by-suggesting-she-inject-insulin-in-toilet/

    Issues with my employer

I use a pump and had to do a cannula change at my desk when one failed and my ketones shot up. There was no way I was doing it in the toilet. That particular one upset a girl I work with and I was extremely discreet. I've had a couple of people mention they didn't like seeing me inject in the...

Advice please RE Extended (square wave) Bolus

For me: 1) Bolus for the carbs regardless of wholemeal or not. 2) disaster and need significant bolus 12 hours later 3) probably a square concentrating on total carbs and how quickly blood sugar expected to climb. 4) straight bolus

    Canula Fail

I definitely fill the cannula after insertion. The default setting is fill so i'd have to choose not to. I had a bent cannula a couple of months ago. The insertion is quite fiddly with these sets. I don't know why they don't keep the tubing separate to attach after insertion. You have to...

    Canula Fail

Hi there. Thanks for the reply. I'm using the Mio sets. I was considering changing to steel because I think I'm having a bit of a reaction but couldn't work out how easy they were to insert.

    Canula Fail

Hi all Since getting my pump last June I've had a couple of canula change fails. Anyone who read my recent post about Medtronic will know that I started CGM this week. Anyway, thought I'd share this canula fail picture from my CGM as I'm surprised at how obvious it is. It really drives home...

    Disappointed with Medtronic Customer service

Update: I called my DSN the next day and asked if they were able to help me resolve this with their rep contact. I ordered the starter kit yesterday for the reduced price and expect it this week. Thanks for the replies.

    Disappointed with Medtronic Customer service

Hello all, I have had my pump for a few months now. I've made good progress but not without a few hiccups. My biggest issue with control has been dawn phenomenon and adjusting my basal rate correctly. I have taken careful consideration and decided to self fund CGM. I'm sure everyone here...
