    Falling HbA1c

Thanks for your inputs. That's what the doctor also felt (maybe I am getting hypos) but I'm not. Anyway, have decided to raise my sugars for a while and check again the levels next month. Cheers

    Falling HbA1c

I was diagnosed as T 1 in Oct 2017 where my HbA1c was 14%. Was put on Novorapid 8 units each before meals and Lantus 21 units at bedtime. My next result in Dec 17 was 7.4%, Mar 18 was 6% and this week in May 18 is down to 5.4%. My I:C ratio is 7 and my daily carb intake is restricted to about...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Was disgonosed as T1 in Oct 2017 with HbA1c of 14%. Jan 2018 it was 7.4% and Mar 2018 results were 6%. The Doc says I should target about 7% and should increase my carb intake (from current 120 gms per day to 200gms per day).

    Alcohol eeek!!

I'm a T1 so not sure how it would relate to T2. I limit my drinking to vodka mixed with soda (carbonated water and not coke) and I ensure that I dont drink empty stomach. So something to much upon like almonds is always there. Cocktails are a big no as most contain syrups with high sugar...

    Hungry all the time

Been diagnosed as a T1 6 months back and on Novorapid 7 units (+/-) before each meal and Lantus 21 units. Prior to the diagnoses I lost weight from 76kgs to 66 kgs over a period of 5 months. Now I weigh 72 kgs and trying to keep it that way. My last Hba1c was 7.2% and my BG is (thankfully) more...

Insulin prefilled disposable pens or cartridges

Diagnosed as a T1 about 5 months back and have been using Novorapid and Lantus prefilled disposable pens (use & throw) as prescribed by my GP. I now learnt that both these insulins also come in cartridges which are about 25% cheaper than the disposable pen type. Just am not very sure if I...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Was disgnosed 4 months back at 14% (does it go any higher than this?). Since then have made serious efforts to stay on natural foods and count my carbs. Last month the Hba1c was 7.4% which my GP is quite happy about and gave me a target of no less than 7% though am not sure about it. Have...

    Carb counting ?!?!

Was diagnosed as a T1 4 months back with a Hba1c of 14 (does it go any higher?). 3 months later was my first lab test and the count came to 7.4. Not bad but my morning BG was still hitting the roof and that would mess with the entire day. Since the last month I started counting carbs and...

Type 1 newly diagnosed needs lots of advice

Hi everyone, I am a 50 year old man diagnosed with type 1 diabetes a few months back. I lost about 10 kgs weight in just 6 months which led to my hospitalization where my sugar reading was at 14. Yesterday was my first Hba1c and it came to 7.4. I am on 8 units of Novarapid before each meal and...
