    Someone without diabetes could go above 8, but would probably reduce faster than a non diabetic. There's no drama in your numbers. What were you drinking with your chicken meal?

    It can be a bumpy road at first, but it sounds like you are doing all the right things and heading in the right direction. Pre and post meal testing is definitely a good thing to do but don't fret on every result - there are all sorts of reasons for outliers and if you're heading the right way...

    @Evie-D welcome to the club no one wants to join, but where we all help each other. 3 things made a massive difference to me: 1) Low carb diet (of course - see above) 2) blood testing before and after meals - you'll flinch like anything first time but no it doesn't really hurt, no it won't...

    If you've made any changes in the right direction then feel positive about them. Go at your own pace. Make a plan for tomorrow, the next day, then the next week, when you are ready make a plan for a month. Make it stick. You'll be glad you did. Go to the Success Stories section of the site...
