New HbAc1 figures up on low carb for last year?

Looks like you are doing all the right things. To really get an insight into how food affects you try a cgm. Abbots offer you a free one at the moment. Go to their website freestyle.abbott and select the free trial.

    Stressed and worried

Abbott https://www.freestyle.abbott/uk-en/getting-started/sampling.html offer a Libra cgm to test for free. This clearly showed me what spiked my food and when. ( not always 1hr after eating)

    Dawn phenomenon

Check that increase is real by using finger prick test. My sensor readings go up to 9 or above when I have a bath while finger prick only shows 6.5-7.

    Type 2 into remission

Brilliant result @Tipetoo. Here in UK they now do accept that if you manage to stay below 48 without medication for at least a year you can be classed as being in remission.

    Type 2 into remission

Sorry. You are right. Meant to say you too may go into remission. I was hoping to get across that we are all different and if possible to test bs with a wide variety of foods and perhaps change of food times, to see what works and what doesn’t.

    Type 2 into remission

@Pipp I saw my doctor today. She told me that, as I my Hba1c had been below 48 for more that a year I was now officially no longer diabetic. I will no longer need 6 monthly blood tests nor yearly clinic appointments to check feet etc. I am not sure about the retinopathy check. I will still have...

    Type 2 into remission

I was diagnosed as type 2 nearly 6 years ago. Through regular testing I found what I could eat ok. I reduced sugar and carbs -no bread, pasta, white rice and absolutely no soft drinks, not even fruit juice. The 5:2 diet helped me to lose 2.5 stone down to 11.5 stone. My HBA1C quite quickly...

Higher readings than doctor? machine to blame?

The GlucoRx Go and the GlucoRx mini can be used with a Bluetooth dongle (£10) directly absinke from GlucoRx.co.uk. It allows you to directly transfer the readings to their apps on iPhone or Android. On my iPhone I have this syncing to the glucose app which gives me avg HBA1C.

Anyone read Dr Briffa's latest post?

Dr Briffa is amazed by Diabetes UK's recommendation that we eat 5-14 portions of carbohydrate a day. That is eq to 5-14 slices of bread. I weigh 75kg so still overweight. For me anything more than 2-3 portions a day will make my bg go up. Have a look at...

Has anyone else had trouble registering with glucorx.co.uk?

Did you use same details when you joined? You needed to provide email address and password when ordering the kit. Just tried to get to the company web site glucorx.net but this appears to be down at the moment. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
