Type 2 Insulin and weight gain.

Yes, I balloon when I take my injections regularly. Mobidly obse is the only way I can describe it, and all on my mid-section too.

    BG falling, but too quick?

Hi, sorry for tardy reply. It was a correction dose I think. Would it fall quicker if it was a correction dose then?

    BG falling, but too quick?

Hi, My blood glucose has fallen 3 units in an hour? Is that too fast? I can't say i'm feeling too grand at the moment. How quickly should a reading fall after a Novorapid jab?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

13.7 at 9am, Oh the joy. Admittedly I didn't inject Levemir before bed but I had done 40 minutes high intensity personal training beforehand. I have a diabetic nurse appt. at 3pm today - what's the betting I'll get snarled at and come away upset...

The Hidden Killer. Type 2 Diabetes.

must have missed the Type 1 bit, but then I was getting quite annoyed

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I'm so jealous of all of you :) Mine was 10.1 at 3am, and then 11.5 at 8.30 am. I had nothing to eat or drink so it should have gone down, not up. Being in the 10s is not unusual for me. Apparently I am remarkably insulin resistant according to the various members of my care team. Readings in...

The Hidden Killer. Type 2 Diabetes.

I watched the programme and frankly found it scare-mongering and with large holes in the reporting. Type 1 wasn't mentioned and Type 2 diagnosed got the normal vilification treatment. There was no mention of polycystic ovary syndrome being a cause, and bariatric surgery was mooted as the...

Type 2 High blood sugar 25to28

As you'll know this feels ropey. Mine (very) occasionally goes to 26 and once went to 30. I get blurred vision, joint pain, misery mood and just want to lie down and sleep, thirsty too. All in all, quite horrid, although not as bad in my view as a hypo. I'm insulin dependent Type 2 so ram that...

Diet Coke - crazy for it

Hi all, I'm craving Diet Coke today. I'm on my 3rd can and it's still only 1.30pm. What's going on? the cravings are mad. My blood sugar was 11.9 at 11.00am, after 33 units of Novorapid (I'm so bad at controlling this Type 2 I've been on insulin for 4 years now). All thoughts welcome... Sally

    BG level 26.2

Type 2 and bg level 26.2 in UK figures. Understandably feeling very wobbly. Have just injected 40 units of Novorapid to correct, but not sure if that's too much... It's 5.10pm now and I won't eat until 7.00pm. I'm drinking loads of water to flush it as I also use Invokana, and there'll be 20...

    Metformin / Invokana therapy

Saw the note on homepage about combined Metformin / Invokana therapy. Just wanted to share that I take both, have never felt so well and am all for it. Highly recommended by me....

    Symptons of hypo at 4.8?

I get hypos at anywhere in the 4. range, but then my blood sugar is always very high. I'm type 2 but insulin dependent. I think the posts on here talking about sudden drops bringing on hypo symptoms are ringing very true. All about the balance I guess...

    testing strip refusal

Hi all, I have a question about testing strips and how the prescription of these is managed by the health providers. I lost my monitor provided by the GP and got a new Contour Next from this site. I used all my testing strips, and spoke to the GP surgery who put the strips on repeat. No strips...

Type 2 Feeling confused ….cocktail of diabetes medication…

I'm in much the same boat as many of you. I take 1000 x mg Glucophage a day, 10x mg Ramipril for bp which works like a dream happily, 40mg of Lipitor for cholesterol but i've no idea what my cholesterol is so I don't know if it's working or not, 15mg of lansoprazole as i get so sick in the...

    Diabetic Meet up/coffee/drinks

Yes, I think it's a great idea too. I have no-one close to me who's insulin dependent and it's hard for people to relate. A central London pub would be perfect
