    Slim biome for weightloss

I just had a look at it on the H&B site. Am I right that each sachet is 3g total? Even if it was 100% carbs, or even 100% sugar, 3 a day would be 9g carbs. I can't see that it would result in your high blood sugars on its own. It also seems to contain a type of soluble fibre - so the bloating...

High cholesteral, high blood pressure and LC diet

Yes I would. Total carbs is safer if you are on a low carb diet. Otherwise you could eat 100g of carbs but think it's less because of the fibre content. The fibre is good but it doesn't stop the carbs spiking your bg levels unfortunately.

High cholesteral, high blood pressure and LC diet

Hi, a quick query. Are you counting total or net carbs?

    Confused with diet.

I'm afraid you've come up against a fairly common problem with medical advice about type 2 diabetes. Namely, that dieticians & GPS do not as a general rule keep up with new research on the condition. They tend to follow the Eatwell plate methodology & they absolutely do not like to see anything...

    High Protein Noodles

I concur on both the bare naked & the courgetti. The rice from bare naked is alright as well as is cauliflower rice.

What is a dangerous HbA1c level

I don't really know the answer to how high is too high but I do think if I was in my 60's instead of 40's I'd be less strict on the carb front & generally consider that life was just a bit too short for all that faff. I still get bouts of 'sod it' thinking though. I find the only.wsy out is to...

Anyone who is still waiting, you can now book as a clinically vulnerable person via the national booking service. No need to wait til you get a call.

Greedy feeling - Covid will be gone but we'll still have our diabetes

I think it can be more difficult to make the good choice for you when you're in restaurants or on holiday. However on the plus side, your insulin sensitivity might improve because doing those things means you're more active, & when (if you're like me anyway) your anxiety at a simple shopping...

Greedy feeling - Covid will be gone but we'll still have our diabetes

I must say it's been quite relief over the last year to be able to avoid the eye rolling or well meant but completely useless advice of friends & family when I refuse a bit of cake or don't have the chips!

Has anyone young from Group 6 been contacted for a covid vaccine yet?

It seems to be down to where you live. I was in for my annual check the other day & the DN nurse said that in my area they had paused for a week as they had to redistribute vaccines elsewhere to catch up but would begin again next week. Also Group 6 are being done by their local GP's either at...

    Feeling poorly

As others have said - your DN is not to be listened to. There are absolutely loads of foods you can eat as a t2 diabetic. It's just that alot of the food that is fine is stuff that for years and years we've been told are bad for us. It takes a bit of getting used to but there are alot of...

    Testing after drinks

For me, alcohol has a totally different reaction on my levels than anything with sugar or sweetener in it. Fizzy or squash spikes my bg levels immediately. However alcohols affect it delayed. In fact if I drink alcohol in the evening- my morning bg levels will be low & by about 10am they have...

Covid vaccine eligibility in Group 6

Oh I'm not complaining at all & apologies if that how it came across. Its the one thing we've got right imo. I was simply wondering if the fact my diabetes was well controlled with diet would mean I wasn't in group 6. I would not even blame them if it was the case. I'd just make other...

    Where to start?

Its weird when you first start looking into this and all your accepted notions of what's good for you are turned on their head. Basically cows milk has lactose in it, which is a carb & metabolises into glucose, which is the thing you don't want to happen when you trying to stop being or avoid...

Covid vaccine eligibility in Group 6

Contact NHS Wales...My sister had to go this route as they had missed my youngest niece off the shielding list despite her being a Primordial dwarf, with asthma, a liver condition & learning disabilities. The practice manager just said there was nothing she could do as apparently none of these...
