Libre 2.9 (keeping the last sensor on for the heck of it til it runs out); dexcom and fingerprick 6.7. So glad I'm switching to dexcom, just kicking myself for relying on dodgy libre readings for far too long (esp the overnight ones)
That sounds delicious.
How were your blood sugar levels 2 hours afterwards?
Unfortunately baked beans (even the no added sugar ones) send my blood sugar levels really high, so I can't eat them any more. Well, I suppose nobody's stopping me, but I choose not to eat them.
Agreed that the 2+ seems to be less reliable than the 2.
I'm trying out a dexcom 1+, with my last libre sensor still running. This morning my libre gave me a reading of 2.9 with a downward arrow; dexcom and a fingerprick gave 7.0...
It's been bizarre seeing libre telling me my bg is dropping...
Bumping this thread - I picked up my abasaglar yesterday around 3pm; realised at 7am today that I hadn't put it in the fridge. It's been in my front room all night, which is about 18-20°.
Should I get it replaced or should it be ok?
Thanks
I've been in a&e a few times in the past with ketones/super high BG and put on a drip. Standard fayre available was a cuppa with biscuits and a selection of sandwiches, all of which i was told would be absolutely fine (and I didn't really know any better)... cue a couple more hours before my BG...
When I was first diagnosed, I didn't actually understand what carbohydrates were or what relevance they had.
Just to check @julieclarke , do you understand what other posters are talking about when they're asking about carbohydrate/sugars, and why it's important/how they affect your blood sugars?
Thank you x
I've spoken to my GP (he's who referred me to the MH services, who then referred me on to health and wellbeing ) and we've changed my antidepressants from sertraline to citalopram and seeing how it goes. Had a huge mh crash on Sunday, which I put down to my period unexpectedly...
No experience with it, but best of luck! I saw your libre/LO posts the other day and kept my fingers crossed you'd find a fingerprick monitor that works for you x
Yep, I get this too. Normally nightmares about being out and about and not having insulin with me, weirdly enough. The most recent one was dreaming I'd gone to Glastonbury and someone nicked my tent with all my diabetes kit in it.
Thanks @debs248 and @Hopeful34
I think I've got the transitional protection bit sorted out now, just waiting for them to deal with my housing element.
Still beyond not managing the D word. I've got a constant background worry that if my basal's wrong then everything else is going to be out of...
I think I've got everything burnout.
I've been migrated from "legacy benefits" to universal credit, and got my first statement for my first UC payment. Looks like transitional protection has gone out the window and my benefits are going to be about £200/month lower. Opened my post and found out...
