Recovering sugar addict. Diagnosed with T2D in Summer 2016 w/ A1C of 10.7. Had widow-maker heart attack and triple bypass surgery in November 2016--at the ripe old age of 45. Quickly learned that the number one factor in heart disease and heart attack predictability is T2D. Eventually caught on to low carb and have been trying to practice that since. I am off 3 med--two for neurological stuff and 1 for T2D. BP med has been reduced and hope to eventually put it to bed.
