which areas are pro(or anti) insulin pumps?

Hi I would like to approach Reading Hospital about a pump for my son (age 11). Does anyone know how Reading stand on helping to get them? or are they anti? I would like to know in advance so I am mentally prepared! From what I have read on here, some hospitals are more willing than others! Thanks.

Thanks. I am totally confused over a lot of things. I find when we go to clinic, when I ask questions they try to brush me off, it feels that they dont want me to know too much or as much as them! Or maybe they just dont know! Last time when I asked about the varience in his blood sugars the...

    low carb diet

Hi. I was totally entranced by all the information on low carb diet as I have never been told about this! Is it because my son is a child and therefore it is not suitable for him?. For breakfast he has cereal, lunch sandwiches and in the evening cooked meal, with potato, rice or pasta! Oh my...

    My daughter

Hi again. I would also like to add that the best thing I found was a blood tester that could be used on the forearm. Scott absolutely detested finger pricking(understandably) and it became a battle ground. Then I was told about the free style monitor which we could use on the arm! (Apart from in...

Could you please explain to me, why, if the blood sugars are brought down to quickly, it can cause brain edema? Thank you.
