They tried changing me to Gluco RX
Couldnt get on with it at all!
Argued my case for the Accu-check mobile, test cassettes and fast clix lancets and won!
Thanks for the advice:)
I do hold a valid exemption certificate but didnt realise some hypo treatments were available on prescription like the hypo gel
I currently take 22 meds on prescription.
I used to have a problem getting the strips on the BG Star, then changed to Gluco RX which was a worse meter, but now on Accu-check mobile ( the lancet drum and cassettes are even more expensive) I get them when needed but I had a Good listening Practice Manager!
Im lucky I get the Novo twist...
They would be higher yes but if you are still producing Insulin (which it sounds as though you are) then it will come down (which it sounds like it does) Are you on any meds?
Linda
Hello
Bought some Hypo gel and Detrose tablets from the Chemist today and she said these should be available on prescription.
Is this correct?
Is there anything else that you should be able to get when you have an exemption certifcate because of your Hypothyroidism and Diabetes?
Linda
Yes! I was told the same a few months ago but was advised my my team at the hospital to get a free Accu chek (which I did) I spoke to the practice Manager and argued my case about keeping the Accu chek and won! I get as many cassettes and drums as I need.
Fight your corner, it can be done!
Good...
I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with Neuropathy and calcification of the arteries in my legs. A doppler and a machine showing flow pictures at the Hospital confirmed this.
Put on Gabapentin and told to live with it as there's nothing more they can do :(
