It is more expensive but fasting is free and not buying lunchtime sandwiches and snacks at work saves quite a bit.

    Type 1 and Dawn phenomenon

I always inject 2 units of novorapid upon waking. I then monitor it through the morning and take some food if it looks like going low or skip breakfast if it doesn’t.

Congratulations great result. I got the same score last time. Worried it may have slipped a little though. I’ve had to attend a lot of conferences for work recently away from home which are always a challenge. Yesterdays Buffett - mini fish pies, mini cottage pies, veggies burgers so basically...

    Just diagnosed and worrying

Pork Scratchings, bacon, most nuts are pretty good, Greek yogurt cheese. You can carb count and dose the way you have been recommended. If you are feeling well enough then going for a walk can really help to bring down the bg levels. Just test regularly and have hypo treatments to hand while...

    Newly diagnosed T1 at 36

Hi Kev, I was diagnosed almost a year ago to the day also at the tender age of 36. Of course I've felt immense anger and frustration at times. I've just been reading the DVLA instructions and my interpretation of the below copied directly from their website is that they now accept a Libre reading for driving a car. Can anybody confirm this? Appropriate glucose monitoring systems • Group 1 drivers may now use finger prick glucose...

Good Luck with the job interview. I must have wanted the last one I went to. I was so pumped up my Blood sugar was in the teens all day despite the fact I'd hardly eaten anything. I kept trying to correct it bud was scared of going the other way and Hypoing in the middle of the interview. Hope...

Who on here eats a ' normal diet"......

How about recommended portion sizes? I think the serving size suggestion on the back of a pack of spaghetti is around 100g (Uncooked weight). If I'm honest with myself then in my pre-diabetes days I probably ate portion sizes which were vastly greater than this. So maybe I'm now low...

Well I can personally vouch that drinking a glass of water with 2 tablespoons of vinegar in it is difficult to keep down. I'm definitely not doing that again. Now to watch the post prandial rise. If the vinegar seems effective I'll try it in the form of a salad dressing tomorrow.
