    Hate to tell you but tomatoes and avocado are fruits, and both fairly high carb. A lot of people, me included, get a high BG spike from them both. Also with your salads, what exactly are you putting into them, what dressing etc.

    How long after eating the pineapple and melon did you test? If you tested at 2 hours, you could have missed the spike and been on your way back to normal numbers.

    I love the taste of roasted cabbage, to me it tastes sweet now. I am finding mushrooms have a totally different taste, even boring brocolli has a different taste now that I am not killing my tastebuds with all the carby rubbish.

    Glucose tabs to raise BS levels as they are a measured dose and are quickly absorbed. Going forward though, if she keeps having hypos she should check back in with her Doctor as she may need her dose of medication lowered.

    Sorry, I don't eat any processed or frozen or pre-prepared foods, so adding salt to my very healthy fresh food is just what I do. And frozen meals are processed foods too

    Actually if you are cutting out the processed foods, that are high in salt, you will need to add salt to your food as our bodies do need salt.

    Around 8 - 10gm a day. Not hard to do really, eat lots of green vegies.
