Occlusions and high readings using flexi cannulas

You could try some insight tender cannulas which go in angled so may not bend. But rumour has it adhesive isnt great on them. Or you could get Roche to swap your Insight with a Combo- they are doing this if asked

    What pump to choose??

I had the same choice, and went for another Animas Vibe. Still felt it was the best pump for me, and with dexcom which is the superior CGM.

    Lantus - what's protocol here?

Your first post said she is 20 and another that she's had type 1 for 20 years. Has one of the rare monogenic diabetes ever been looked in to? (usually diagnosed before 6 months)

    Annual funding

Where I live DSN submits an annual report to CCG, next door CCG has to be put before a panel every year. So it's likely that OP is the same and funding is submitted annually. Funding doesn't just get stopped according to my DSN, if someone isn't doing well, or e.g not testing they are set an...

    Moving CCG. Pump funding paused?

My guess, your original CCG has had an invoice for your consumables and realised you don't live there anymore and it's not their responsibility to pay, so has told Medtronic this. Your Diabetes team hadn't transferred your funding to new CCG. Your DSN should know if they did it or not. I do...

    Moving CCG. Pump funding paused?

Your current team (as long as they are happy to still see you), just needs to write to Brentwood CCG to get the funding approved, and they will take over paying the invoices to Medtronic

    Pumping getting me down

Could you try and get some samples of the Contact Detach- Animas version on steel cannulas. These can't bend as they go in and are manually inserted. They may give you more confidence in cannula changes. Alos agree a pump break could be a good idea, you'll either prefer it or be glad to get...

    Freestyle Libre rather than cgm?

I would change this to 18-24 as currently not got it's license for children sorry can't work out how to multi quote "300 blood strips every 28 days £95.94 (These would no longer be needed at all)" If on a cost effective meter ie. cheap meter! then the cost will be £60 (£10 for 50 strips)...

    Freestyle Libre rather than cgm?

How long are people getting from Dexcom transmitters? The Libre handset has 3 year warranty which is a plus point

    Freestyle Libre rather than cgm?

I am day 5 of my Libre trial. So far, not as accurate as Dexcom CGM. With the Dexcom I could use the sensor readings to bolus from they were that accurate (I know technically you are not supposed to do this, and still meter check). With the Libre its been anything from 2-9mmol/l difference. So I...

How do I run higher blood sugar on a pump?

In the past I have done this by reducing my whole basal rate by 0.025 even hour, and gone from there. The other thing I have also done is slightly adjust my target range. So that if I am running below 5.5 say a small bit will be knocked off my boluses.

    Insulin pumps

If you are looking to send fund CGM, it would probably make sense to go with Animas or Medtronic, which are CGM compatible. Dexcom seem to have the best reputation regarding CGM accuracy, which would point to the Animas. Also Roche are bringing out a new pump beginning of next year so make...

Animas Vibe - pump is not primed

I had this problem, at one point it was going off several times a day. Problem was the cartridge cap, if it doesn't connect properly then it gives this warning. So have you changed that yet? I'd do that first. The other problem an Animas rep identified was that I was unconsciously twisting the...

How to use dexcom CGM sensor over 7 days?

It works fine to do that, I also had 2 sensors and wanted to try and get extra time from them. First one got 7 days as the site was sore, second sensor got 10 days. was still accurate but the sticky had gone. Did you find having CGM useful?
