If you get diabetes back (out of remission)

Hi, The gp surgery have called me earlier than expected for next month to have a blood test. My question is if you come out of remission as type 2 do you get listed as diagnosed with diabetes from this point or back from the time you were actually originally diagnosed? I had a district nurse...

    High blood glucose and cold/flu/covid

Yes eventually went to my chest (for all the it is just a cold) last week got given antibiotics based on diabetes and past history. My readings went unusually higher and after many loafs consumed with light Philly I’m a stone and a half heavier. Sadly I made a load of mistakes at work too...

Foot care - available on the NHS?

There is no help. I am now asked if someone cuts my toe nails after the diabetic nurse thinks looking at foot is no more their job. In fact when ever there is a diabetic nurse appointment I will attend even without my wrap so they never have any excuse.

What to do - work attendance in person

I work in a call centre for local authority - answering calls back to back which probably isn’t helping the voice. I am getting a lift to training after last weeks antics and only for the grace of god another driver behind me realising I was making a mistake but only 2 days until I’m back home...

What to do - work attendance in person

Honestly you don’t know my background or whatever medical conditions I’m dealing with. I’m truly beginning to understand why many forums restrict talking about medical advice. I have turned up to public sector training with a sore throat back, bringing up bloody phlegm and to find actually...

    Losing faith

I think I can understand. For the 4 years I took metformin I always use to get asked ironically by medics - are you controlled by diet & exercise. It always seemed a bizzare thing to say until I met a surgeon on dealing with skin/wound problems who made it clear they do not believe in remission...

What to do - work attendance in person

Thanks, I've hardly been dealing with this for 2 days. There is no fear of seeing anyone from my surgery sooner then I have already got booked for.

What to do - work attendance in person

My line manager actually isn't in themselves. I'm due to see the GP end of the week for antidepressants (ironically not on prescription by them) so that is something I suppose. I did see a legitimate pharmacy who will sell antibiotics for around £25 but under a postal service whom I have used...

Do the nhs not do definite diagnosis any more?

Just to update I have now specifically asked the clinic this condition reaches my medical records if as they said this morning again by way of phone consultation, they feel it is lymphoedeoma.

What to do - work attendance in person

Hi, I really hoped a cold would jog on by now, which leaves me a little unsure how to play training at work which starts tomorrow and is in person with others who I have no idea if vulnerable nor how much I'll take in, nearly having a car accident Friday when I tried to venture out, I'm feeling...

    Cold with diabetes

Thanks, what the surgeon said happened 8 months ago it’s beginning to think rings absolutely true. Anyway I think 7+ days on I’m getting there.

    Cold with diabetes

Thanks, it feels like I’m in a vicious circle. I’m trying to work through which probably isn’t the wisest thing so can’t access a pharmacy right now. The cheapo cough medicine I have just say’s it should be taken into account with people with diabetes mellitus but it isn’t like I’m overdosing...

    Cold with diabetes

Hello, Sorry if in wrong place. The first real time I have noticed readings affected by unwellness. I have been battling a cold all week and getting higher then usual blood glucose readings, as I’m on no regular medication for diabetes as it currently is, surely it won’t matter when it comes...
