    Libre 2plus

I think you are right.. the upgrade would be to a Libre3 (it's smaller and seemingly better features) but it's not available yet on healthcare system where I live in France. At least here, my endo says that the Select is an upgrade from the 2+ which aapparently is not going to be available soon...

Train wreck of a new diagnosis

Hi Daisys Driver - not dissimilar experience for me (I have posted on the forum about it), and was also told that trigger could have been stress but more probable a virus (will never know).. so my official diagnosis was T2, now LADA/T1.. I'm on about 20U/day (depending on what I eat) and still...

    Libre 2plus

'best' might be subjective, but I use an Samsung A54 and it works fine with my 2+. Note that my endo recently prescribed Libre 'Select' and it was a nightmare as I still had (and have) 2+ sensors and the 2 & select require separate, not at all compatible, apps.. so having both apps on my phone...

    Airport Scanners

I travel quite a lot, I've opted out of going through scanners previously but at my local airport about a year or so ago, the security agent pointed to her CGM and said that she goes through the scanner about 100x a day, so I did too. Now I always go through the scanner and have never had an...

At what point do you stop treating a hypo?

Good question. Tried it, yes. Faster, well I haven't pitched one directly against the other, but when I've resorted to sweets in the absence of juice (or coke) I would say that I get a quicker return to normal. Edited by mods to remove forum rule breach B10 using AI generated info

At what point do you stop treating a hypo?

I was advised by my endo team to take liquids that are faster acting to treat the lows initially, so a small glass of orange juice/grape juice may be faster than your jelly babies. Not always possible of course but might help.

    LADA Tresiba question

I missed an injection of Tresiba entirely once when travelling (oops)... didn't appear to have a material effect. As Antje says it's very forgiving. Just switched to Trujeo a couple of weeks ago as I was questioning with my doc whether it's too slow for me, so trying it out..

Has anyone ever experimented with Tresiba in this way? (Not medically reccomended or advisable)

My previous pens were 2U, so my dose choices were either 8 or 10..so for a while I was doing alternate days dosing of 8/10.. it mostly worked but I discussed with my doctor and switched to the refillable cartridge ones with 1U and I was able to select 9U.. worked a treat, and if you need to be...

    Electric induction ovens/Abbott LIBRE sensors

A couple of weeks ago I needed to get an MRI scan for a knee injury. Before going in I googled whether libre sensors were affected by the MRI & it seems they are the only sensor approved for use in MRI. The nurse confirmed it was ok as long as I covered it with my hand during the scan (I...

    Metformin side effects

At original diagnosis I was put on Biogaran MF on min dose and it was a disaster. Changed immediately to Merck Stagid MF and have been on that now for about 2years at max dose and it's (mostly) fine.. so ask your doc if there are alternatives that might work perhaps?

Anyone having big reliability issues with Freestyle Libre 2 Plus sensors?

I have generally had good performance from mine (I believe), but your query prompted me to check against finger-prick just now - at the higher range (just had breakfast..so a spike) there was only 1% error, but I will check more. I have found that the A1C1 estimate is generally lower than blood...

    Confused by recent appt/advice

Hi Em - I'm also on Tresiba (at my request - as indeed it's a lot more stable than previous Abasaglar, which I found for my condition was too reactive). However I am also finding response times very long sometimes as so I can concur with the comments from others to your post as well as your...

LADA after being initially diagnosed as T2

@LionChild "Particularly in the mornings I started dragging my feet in an odd way."..... wait what? Before I was first diagnosed (initially T2, mcuh later LADA) I had the same problem. I have a couple of herniated disks in my back and occassionally need physio/ostio/pilates to manage but no real...

    Disposing of Freestyle Libre

I'm also in France - just sent back 26 sensors to them. According to what they sent they will take apart the sensors and recycle usable materials within. I don't know the name for it, but all of the 'applicator' plastic packaging, the box and the instruction I put in the household recycling bin...

    Metformin to treat LADA?

To be honest I don't really carb-count daily. I just eat what I feel like but within limits, and try to eat some carbs to prevent lows but I'm still trying to work out what makes sense (and it doesn't always). True that if I don't eat enough carbs I'll need a snack or two. I was travelling a few...
