    Managing exercise and insulin

I began running at the beginning of the year, and to say that maintaining my Bg levels has been difficult is an understatement. Having said that, it is far from impossible. It's a never-ending learning curve, but the benefits of running far outweigh the discomfort of managing T1D while...

Type 1 Diabetic Runners - Southampton area

We seem few and far between! It's always good fun connecting with other T1Ds in real life regardless of the situation. Hopeful to find a small group local to me for running - but it's turning out to be quite the challenge :)

Type 1 Diabetic Runners - Southampton area

Hello! I began running in 2023 and am pleased to report that it has gone well. I recently ran a 10k and have registered for the Farnborough Winter Half Marathon in January. I've learned to appreciate how difficult it is to train with T1D - both mentally and physically - throughout my training...

Hi guys! I'm so sorry - I posted this a while back and completely forgot about it. Thank for your thoughts! @In Response I haven't considered fully suspending my basal but have been dropping it by 80% an hour beforehand. I've been using Lucozade sport during my run and usually finishing the...

Libre 2 sensor - issues with alarms

Hello all! Has anyone used the new sensors and experienced any issues? I trialled it but the alarms for high/low blood sugars never seemed to work - it kept on saying loss of signal so it couldn’t alert me. Has anyone else had this/know how to fix? Thanks!

Thank you [emoji4] that is what I was told by the doctor but it seemed really odd to me! Maybe I should try adjusting my diet and see if that helps.

huge spikes after eating - help!

I know the sensors can be in accurate at times and I have been lazy with my finger pricking so I should try that again. Thank you [emoji4]

huge spikes after eating - help!

Thanks for the advise, very helpful! [emoji4] The drops have no relation to exercise or correction. It seems that there is just a massive delay for the insulin to start working. I change injection sites regularly so is a bit odd in my opinion.

huge spikes after eating - help!

Hi all! I’ve been struggling recently with massive spikes after eating and wondered if anyone else has encountered this before? I’ve included my Libre readings from yesterday and as you can see, it seems that there is a massive delay in the insulin taking effect but I’m having it 30 minutes...
