    I am using Novamix 30, I adjust my dose depending on my test result, but only by a couple of units either way. I used to take 60units morning and evening, but after doing the 8 week blood sugar diet I am on 25 units AM and PM.

    How to clean lancet device?

    I use a new lancet every time, another tip I was given by the nurse, don't test with the first drop of blood.Wipe it away with a clean swab squeeze to get a second sample, then test that. I found it did make a favourable difference.

    If you telephone or write to the parking company, explaining your circumstances they will probably cancel the fine.     is 700 calories per day any good?

    Michael Mosely who devised the low carb diet suggests 800calories per day, but only for 8 weeks, then he has devised a 2 day fasting per week. Works a treat, I lost 3.5stone, and my BG dropped dramaticaly, I feel great.

    80g of broccoli has 1.1g of carbs and 19g of KCal, I don't think that is what caused your high BG

    I went on the 8 week blood Sugar Diet, by Dr Michael Moselely and Prof. Rod Taylor, I lost 3.5 stone in the 8weeks, my blood drppoed from high teens down to 5 - 7. I fully recommend this diet, get the book by the same name, there are some lovely recipes in there.

    You might find it hard to cut the carbs, the surgeon will have no trouble cutting off a limb, your choice.

    I have never paid for meters, lancets or test strips, I get them on prescription, and have done since I was diagnosed in 1991.
