Only been tyoe 2 for just over year and cannot seem get sugars below 8 to 9.5 in mornings, only drink water overnight, last meal around 2000. On 500mg slow release metaformin evening/morning. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

Is it normal for morning readings to be between 7 and 9, with only water for previous 9 plus hours. Fairly new no this and still trying understand why reading jump from 3 to 15 when have not eaten a lot or incorrect foods?
