    Insuman basal discontinued

Thanks , I'll look into different types also. Probably mean a lot of trial and error when switching so not looking forward to that :-(

    Insuman basal discontinued

I tried getting my 3 monthly insulin prescription and was told insuman basal is no longer available. Has it been discontinued? Are there similar basal insulin I can switch to? I've been using since diagnosis in 2011 so reluctant to change, but looks I don't have a choice.

Snapped needle. What should i do ?

Tried the magnet and realized it won't work :-) Fortunately I have an appointment with my diabetic doctor tomorrow so can ask then. I have been poking and prodding the injection site and don't feel anything , when I inject I can feel the needle quite prominately. So hoping it's fallen out and...

Snapped needle. What should i do ?

For the first time in 11 years of injecting insulin a needle snapped off. It was early morning so I was not particulary alert and I have no idea if it is stuck in me, fell to the floor or stuck in my clothes. I can't find it anywhere but I don't feel any pain in the injection site and can't see...

    Libre 3 Multiple failures

This is very good advice. I have now complained to all possible sources i.e. Doctor , Health insurance and MHRA. I'm now on 8 sensors failed in a row after 1 week and Abbott are being being evasive. I have received ony 4 replacement sensors and even the new ones fail after a week. Also bought a...

    Libre 3 Multiple failures

I've been on the Libre 3 ~ since May 2022. No issues until this year, I now have the 4th sensor fail in a row. They each last around 7 days and I then I get sensor error on my phone followed by error code 373,A , 57 and sometimes 4011 , 4212 , 4227 and 4224 in the error log. They never recover...

    Libre 3 Sensitivity

Ok thanks. No this phenomenal happens at any time of the day. Particularly bad overnight. Yesterday I had a reading of 176 mg/dl and a finger prick indicated I was 110 mg/dl. That would have been an epic hypo if I had bolused for the libre 3 reading.

    Libre 3 Sensitivity

I've been using the Libre 3 now for 2.5 months. I notice extreme differences between the Libre3, Libre 2 and fingerpricks. For example I woke up this morning and Libre3 was reporting I was at 168 mg/dl, I performed 3 finger pricks and they were 110, 102 , 98 mg/dl. If I had relied on the...

    Libre 3 experiences

Anyone using the Libre 3 yet ? I've put my last Libre 2 sensor on today. 2 weeks and it will be Libre 3 all the way. I have had lots of problems with the Libre 2 sensors. It seems 1 in 3 of the sensors are faulty and then it takes weeks to get a response from Abbot. Hoping there is some...

    Compatible phones and libre2

Could anyone recommend me a smart phone that I can use with the libre2 sensor please? I’m getting confusing info from Abbott. I understand the phone needs to be NFC enabled

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

4.9% Yesterday. I’ve been screwed up for 2 years with a CSF leak and can’t exercise, gained 1.5 stone and am literally a couch potato.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Mine was 5.0, which is surprising as I've been totally incapacitated for the last 12 months with a CSF leak.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

4.7 % after spending the last 3 months in and out of hospitals and largely lying on my back unable to exercise and zero hypos. Looks like I don’t need to exercise at all to achieve tight control:-(

    L-Arginine supplements

Anyone ever taken L-Arginine supplements? I’m currently trying everything to self heal a CSF leak to avoid being hospitalized again at the end of the month. I read L-Arginine can help repair the dura. I took it for a week and could not believe the impact on my BS. I was flatlining :-) I...
