Excellent news @Andydragon well done you. It's a good feeling isn't it and well worth the effort of giving up the foods that harm us.

    I made it too!

Thank you @bulkbiker. I followed lchf eating but as a tofi had to keep an eye on my weight as I didn't want to get too skinny. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the numbers down if I didn't have much excess to lose. So it was wonderful to get the news that us skinnys can get there...

    I made it too!

I was shocked when my gp told me I was pre diabetic back in Feb this year. I was borderline with a reading of 42 but determined to follow the inspirational folks on here that have turned things around, After a tough few months, including losing my mum a couple of months ago, I found out today my...

    Govt texts - Coronavirus

Thanks for the replies. The messages come via a mobile number which I find strange. I think for now I'll leave well alone and I may contact my GP surgery to check it out. Of course I'm social distancing - luckily I live out in the country so have plenty of space to spread out. Stay safe everyone

    Govt texts - Coronavirus

Hello Has anybody else in the UK received texts from the government offering help and advice for those "extremely vulnerable". I have been getting daily texts and at first thought they were scams but having checked out the link it is real. I was diagnosed prediabetic back in January and my only...

    Can't face LCHF

Thanks everyone for your replies. @Brunneria chicken broth & soup sounds just right - takes me back to childhood when not feeling so good and mum wrapped me up on the settee, feeding me Heinz chicken soup whilst 'Watch with mother' was on the box. Showing my age now haha

I started on Tues evening with a bout of vomiting and diahorrea (sorry for the detail). Hadn't eaten since lunchtime. My husband called out paramedics as no doctor on call and I was in a bit of a state. Along with other obs she measured my BM and it was 9.2. I'm prediabetic and my fasting BM is...

    Hello all

Hi @Ian79 and welcome I, like you was diagnosed as prediabetic 6 weeks ago and was very shocked as I like to think I followed a good diet, wasn't considered overweight and had always exercised. The advice and information on this site has been a Godsend to me and I am now following a low carb...

    On the right road?

Thanks BoSoBo - Yes he was 15 so a good age but has left a gaping hole in our lives. We will have another dog, either a puppy or another rescue then I can add dog walking to my list

    On the right road?

Too true@BoSoBo I've been an off and on gym bunny for a lot of my 66 years.......sooo boring. Lost my doggy 4 months back and have been full time carer for my mum for the last 2 years so no meaningful exercise for a while. Will get out on my bike come spring and my husband is semi retiring soon...

    On the right road?

Thank you @Rachox. I get that no one size fits all but good to know it can be improved along with the diabetes. Congratulations to you for 'sticking with it' and getting healthy

    On the right road?

I was diagnosed prediabetic mid January. Hba1c was 42. At 5'3" and 141lbs I was a little overweight but maybe one of the TOFI type. Anyway have read this site from beginning to end and have been so inspired by all of your experiences and helpful advice. I immediately went LCHF and gave lost 7lbs...

Thanks KennyA me too. I have the dry mouth too and sometimes a metallic taste. I chew sugar free gum and find it helps. So glad to have found this site. Although you wouldn't wish D on anybody just knowing you can find support and advice on here is such a comfort.
