You will get as many opinions on "the best monitor" as you will get responses. All monitors have to comply with the same accuracy criteria and, in my opinion, within those criteria, consistency is as important as anything. You will use it to monitor the effects of foods and to look at trends in blood glucose so as long as it is consistent it will give you that data. There is no meter, even in labs., which is 100% accurate, it may be close but there is always error. This is in the nature of the manufacturing process and quality control.
My advice is pick a meter which you feel comfortable with and don't compare it's readings with another meter they are bound to be different even if the sample is from the same finger prick, you use the same type of meter. and test strips from the same batch and don't worry too much about meters. Diet is more important than spot readings.
