Medtronic 780g with simplera sync

I’ve been on the Medtronic 780 with Simplera for 12 days now and the sensor gave up during the night. When the Smartguard was running the Basal wasn’t highlighted on the pump. I turned the Smartguard off as I was concerned the Basal wasn’t running. I haven’t as yet put another Simplera on , but now notice the Basal is highlighted and I can’t turn it off. Does anyone know when I put the new sensor on will the Basal no longer be be highlighted. I have been on pumps for 12 years with Libre.

When in smart guard If you have the app installed you can see the increases and decreases in basal symbolised by pink at the top of the graph but no easy way to see the immediate basal level you don’t really need to as the pump adjusts it every 5 minutes

If your sensor failed earlier than expected you can order a replacement in the WeCare app

I would typically fit a sensor right away to be back in smartgaurd within 2 hours

Thanks searley, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately as it was during the night, I left it until the morning. It’s all running now this sensor will go the 7 days.

Do you get loss of signal a fair bit. Yesterday I was out at my daughters and the system kept losing signal.

No, only if I leave the room that my phone is in, infact very often I have perfectly good signal phone in 1 room me in the other
Any phone connection issues will probably be poor Bluetooth in the phone Samsung are know for buggy Bluetooth

As for pump to simplera not had a single issue

So, a couple of weeks ago, my 780g pump arrived, and luckily, I'm one of the first few batches that have been coming out with the new simplera sync cgm

i have worn the simplera for a few days so i could compare it alongside the Dexcom, and I have to say the readings have been very close in fact i would say the simplera has been slightly closer to my glucose meter, granted it is only the first sensor.

i had my training yesterday and went live on the pump, having copied most settings from my tslim so my control the last 24hours has been very similar

hopefully, tomorrow, should be able to go into smart guard, which on paper should be able to give tighter control than the tandem, however unlike the tandem the medtronic learns patterns over time, so im hoping in a couple of weeks, my control will be better

more impressive, i have a glow in the dark skin and green alien keypad stickers :)
Have you been able to get any replacement Simplera Sync sensors?

You may well struggle to get any replacements or they may be delayed. I received an email this morning to say they were pausing the rollout of the update to current 780g users as there is a delay in manufacturing the sensors

My last set are on back order, but when my supplies were delivered I still had 4 months worth in the cupboard

So even if I have to wait a month or so I will be ok

Hey @searley I have one question regarding 780g software version in order to use Simplera Sync .. When I go to my 780g Device Info .. I have Hardware A1.01, Software 6.7V and Model MMT-1885 .. will this work with Simplera Sync .. what is the version of your 780g ?
Thanks in advance

Might be a better question for Medtronic

It may be easy to apply but for quite a few of us the libre’s forty-eight to sixty-two hours’ settling in time and inaccuracies is a little more than merely frustrating
