I'm going out later today, marti pellow:) got to leave home at 4! I usually have my main meal at 5pm with my metformin. Is it ok to switch my main meal to lunch time and just have my normal sandwich at 5ish with metformin? I know it's a pathetic question but I'm still trying to work all this out.

No pathetic questions, here.
I have always taken Metformin with food, and at the same time of day, especially if there are carbs in the meal.

I have previously been on Metformin, and was instructed that to take it with a meal not because there is a direct effect on your blood sugars, but to protect your guts from side effects. So I don’t see a problem in switching your meals today. Have a good time this evening.
