I guess I have to start all over again.

After a long inability to control my T2D, I gave up my much-loved pasta, and even virtuous sourdough bread, and went on a low carb regime. This brought my A1c down to 42. But then a series of operations resulted in a post-anaesthesia heart attack and a rare and deadly infection with a long hospital stay. Now my glucose levels are right back up.

With so many serious health and other issues, it is hard to stay motivated. But I have to. It means prioritising. Eye surgery has to be postponed. IV to treat the sepsis damaged my kidney function. Acute injury might be reversible but still I have to work out a regime that is both kidney and diabetes friendly. I'm waiting for biopsy results for cancer. Hopeful. I'm overdue some good luck. Like a game of Snakes and Ladders I'd almost won, I'm down, but not out.

Thank you to all who responded to my previous posts. And keep your spirits up everyone.

You’ve been through so much, and the fact that you’re still trying says a lot. You’ve already shown real strength getting your A1c down before.

Life has really thrown a lot your way, but you’re still here and still pushing forward, and that matters. Taking it one step at a time is more than enough right now.

Sending you support and hoping some good news comes your way soon. How are you holding up day to day?

I'm holding up okay, thank you for your kind thoughts. My cancer biopsy result was negative, which is a relief.
