What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

So my libre trial device arrived yesterday woohoo I was reading 7.6 when I started it at 2:30. I ate some white bread as I wanted to see how fast and how far my sugars went!

A white bread sausage sandwich took me from around 8 to 14.2 mmol in less than 2 hrs! I compared it to a finger prick and was 0.3 difference.

Despite this, I went hypo to 3.6 at 2.30 am! I didn’t feel hypo and meter was accurate so had 1 glucose tab and went to 7.1 in 20 mins!

On waking this morning I was 6.2 on libre. I didn’t finger prick as I just want to use the libre as my main check but will use it for a double check if something seems odd, like the hypo in the night.

fingerprick 6.4 - 5.8 libre . Pre-Op appt tomorrow :( nightmares :/ double lumber fusion op very shortly no idea how sugars will fair with zero exercise for what will likely be several weeks all going well before 'light exercise' and 6+ months before can try return to swimming :(
