I’ve been type 1 for 50 years. Last week I had a hysteroscopy (camera in womb and biopsy ) to check for cancer. It was
painful but I’m ok. Since then my sugars and ketones have shot up from 12am. I’ve been to A and E who weren’t sure, even though my ketones were 3.6. They drop with Fiasp and my ketones drop too in the morning . I feel sick now. I’m going to the specialist tomorrow. I’m on a warning at work for absence. Never had this before. Anything else I should do?
Trying to drink and have small meals with my insulins. Any clues?

Did you get any steroids, either through a drip or by mouth?
Can it be you have some inflammation going on as a result of the procedure, or completely unrelated?
Both steroids and inflammation can raise BG.

Can you drop your endo or diabetes nurse a note to talk about dose adjustments?

Hi all and thank you. I’ve been to the specialist nurse, who also spoke to the consultant. Both had no idea why I’m having ketones every night that are only corrected when I have both
insulins when I get up. I had gas and air and a fluid in my uterus, that was a pain killer apparently. I’m beside myself and feeling stressed about it every night and morning. There was some infection or ‘red markers’ in my urine sample. I’m still not healed although the biopsy was 9 days ago. I am on Clopidogrel however but no one told me to stop it before the procedure. I feel like I did pre HRT, as awake at 3am and hot.

Hi all. Still no further with it all. Work want to put me on another warning. My GP signed me off for 5 weeks but I’ve gone back on that, I can’t risk it. My urine test had several ‘issues’ so it’s gone to the lab. I’m on antibiotics but just as a precaution. I can’t function on any level and am totally miserable. My poor husband is getting the brunt of it all, and I wasn’t good before. Anyone relate? Woken at 4 as usual on an 18 despite going to bed on a 5.
