Hi,
I am a teacher with diabetes,
I teach a class on my own and am extremely worried about the heat and how it affects me.
What advice do you have?
For reference I have emailed my concerns to head and duty asking for support in the classroom incase I become poorly bit have had no reply!

Hi and welcome,

How does the heat affect you? How do you monitor your blood sugar? What treatment are you on? Are you worried about your blood sugar dropping too low, or going high?

Sorry fir so many questions but we can’t help you unless we know what you are worried about.

I’d keep pushing for the help you need. A tye minute with the warm weather, my blood sugars have been high. So. As well as taking my insulin, drinking water I also use a neck fan that can be charged using a sub. However kero asking or emailing for the help you need. If your in the uk by law the work place has to jusr reasonable adjusters

This is the law regarding temperature at work,

there’s no statutory minimum or maximum - if there was we’d have no restaurants, bakeries, eateries open in hot weather, when I was cheffing I often worked in temperatures of 35deg plus, in the summer months, in full chef whites, boy those jackets are thick! All possible reasonable adjustments should be made though. I used to make sure I was always well hydrated and though very difficult during service try to get a bit of air

In that case hopefully the head will put something in place but definetly if you don’t hear anything soon keep contacting them
