This is what my diabetologist asked me to do to evaluate my diabetic profile. I thought about posting it in the "success stories" section, but I don't consider it a success. While my glycated hemoglobin is within normal ranges, I have gout problems from eating a lot of red meat and sardines. My platelet count is low, which worries me because my platelet count is always low when I get blood tests, although this time it was below the normal limit. My father died at 84 from acute leukemia. I also have high uric acid. Although I haven't had my uric acid tested, I do have gout attacks. So, the diet helped me control my glucose but not my uric acid. Another thing that always comes back difficult for me is my lipid profile (cholesterol and triglycerides). And then I'm left wondering if the scales used in Latin America are the same as in the UK.
My Complete Diabetes Profile: Results and Reference Values as of August 2, 2026

This was the set of tests performed in my case as part of the follow-up. Not all laboratories necessarily include the same tests or use exactly the same reference ranges. As an aside, I can add that I achieved a glycosylated hemoglobin level of 5.7% just by dieting (without medication).
