Low BGL in the morning

Normally, I wake to a BGL of between 6.5 and 8.
This morning I did my normal test and was shocked to see 3.6 shown in the window of my meter.
I did a second test on my other hand, and it showed 3.5.
Two hours after breakfast my level was up to 4.5.
Checked meter with control, and smack in the middle.
I didn't change anything last night, or had any incident during the night.
Has anyone had a similar morning reading?

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
I'd be perfectly happy with a 3.5 fasting reading. Unless you've got a lot of active medicine in your system, it's not dangerous and as you found, breakfast put you back to a perfect number. Non-diabetics usually stay around 4.5 - 5.

3.5 isn't normal after taking last insulin dose 15 hours earlier.
The two hour after breakfast level was also after taking this mornings dose of nova mix 30.

I wouldn't be happy with 3.5 in my T1 child, it's too low. Should be over 4. Are you on a basal insulin? May need tweaking? Are you coming down with something? That can affect levels.

Back to normal of 7.2 this morning. Haven't a clue what caused yesterday's low reading.
