Hornplayer, can my boyfriend and I share you?
I love Final Fantasy too; it was the series that made me teach myself flute piano and guitar at 16. Do you ever play video game music? I want 'To Zanarkand' played by a string quartet as I walk up the aisle.
The storylines inspired me to write. The concept art was my inspiration and analysed in my coursework for GCSE, BTEC and still using Final Fantasy references for my degree. I spent half my personal statement applying to University talking about how Final Fantasy influenced my career choices and it got me 5 offers for completely different degrees.
The house has seen a PS1, PS2 slim, PS2 fat, 2 PS3 fats, GB Color, 2 GBASPs, 1 DS classic, 2 DS Lites a 3DS and a Wii.
I started playing my photographer's MegaDrive (original Sonic the Hedgehog) in a deal to make me sit still as a small child, then played my cousin's DreamCast.
Got my Dad all 3 Uncharted games so going to have a go when the disc drive gets repaired as he has finished them.
I adore platformers and role playing games with some puzzle/fighting elements. The Original Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games being my favourites besides FF. Vib Ribbon, PaRappa the Rapper, Kula World, Tomba, Abe's Exoddus, Ratchet and Clank, Kingdom Hearts (especially 358/2 Days and 2) Dark Cloud and Klonoa are awesome.
I also love Pokemon but my Wifi doesn't connect to Nintendo WFC and I never have anyone to battle...
I like bringing games to my boyfriend's house for us to play together or if it's one player, we take turns, one of us will watch or offer tips (or look up a walkthrough online lol)
I'm a little unsure of the casual gamer/mobile gamer market thing going on at the moment. I like some of the quirky games being made by independent developers making best use of the touch screen etc But I dislike how much games become cliche and 'dumbed down' for the casual market. I like depth. 1112 deems like a genuinely intelligent iOS title though. Obviously if it's a puzzler, that's different. On my tablet and phone I have been playing Zoo Keeper which is a bit like Bejeweled but a but a bit more thought involved and the art direction is great. On my DS I am playing Pokemon Black and Red (through a game boy color emulator) as well as My Japanese Coach, which is more a learning program than a game.
I feel like certain games do better as ones you can play at the bus stop on your phone/DS and some deserve the whole home console 'experience'. I really wish Crisis Core, Dissidia and 358 Days came out on PS3. Apparently 358 will be included in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix but it will only be the pre rendered cutscenes from the game.
