Do you get hospital care?

Oh dear, that isn't good news. The GPs I have dealt with regarding diabetes are often pretty clueless about things!

Never been seen by any specialist or doctor at the hospital. Just my Diabetes nurse, and not even a GP in sight.

I've had to practically do it all myself, with no help from anyone, except the forum here. I have only been seen twice since my diagnosis way back in January, short appointments, and won't see the DS nurse again until December.
I did get the Desmond course but it was much too late to be helpful, and most of it wasn't particularly helpful, and I got an eye scan done but that's been my lot re my diabetes. :eh:

I wouldn't be happy switching back to the care of my gp, the hospital clinic is more specialized in dealing with insulin related issues and the time allowed is much longer than I'd get in my gp practice, often I can get to see a Consultant, Podiatrist and Dietitian all in one visit if I wanted; trying to book appointments at my gp practice can be a nightmare just getting through and finding a suitable time slot, don't have any issues whatsoever with the general care there just not up to par when it comes to the knowledge in a hospital clinic.
