Type 2 Itching skin?

My skin on my arms and face have been itching for a couple of weeks. I know this happens to diabetics but can someone please tell me why. Thanks

An intense rash all over my torso, arms and thighs led to my T2 diagnosis last year. It responded to canesten cream which means it was a fungal infection. High sugars can feed the wee beasties. Starve them by keeping blood sugar low.
