Does that mean that you are eating 4 meals a day? Most diabetics total insulin a day will be about 40 to60% basal..

Do you exercise much? I know my resistance drops when I walk at lunch most days and then do gym or gardening one day a week most weeks

Your DSN does sound crazy, but I don't know if I missed something here but is her ONLY reason for thinking you're type 2 the fact that you take a lot of background? Because that is actually completely wrong- if anything the fact that you have to take a lot of background insulin would suggest you couldn't possibly be type 2. Or are you saying the background isn't keeping your blood sugars down so maybe she's thinking you're type 2 because your body isn't using the insulin properly?
